They had the popularity of the Beatles and the lighting bolt song of led Zeppelin (stairway) (smells like teen spirit) i remember going" these are the same guy who put out bleach" and i love that album. I was disappointed they polished their sound..so i didn't get into nevermind. I was into Alice in chains more. I still liked Nirvana but I got sick of teen spirit. Then in utero came out and that's like their sequel to Bleach, it's even better, a masterpiece as far as im concerned. Brilliant album..im 49 now and I've got to re appreciate nevermind,👍🏻🎸 its deffo a great album.
